Manchester United legend Edwin Van der Sar currently heads executive functions at the Amsterdam Arena as Ajax’s CEO and remains contentious regarding Inter’s eye on one of his players. The Nerazzurri have been keeping close tabs for someone who can be Samir Handanovic’s direct replacement, with the Slovenian veteran nearing his 40s.

Speaking to Tuttosport, the former Juventus goalkeeper covered a number of topics, one of which dealt with Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana’s recent links with the Milan giants.

The Cameroon international is currently serving a nine-month ban after testing positive for a banned substance. He is suspended until 3 November 2021.

“Hard to say, he is suspended until November 3. He’s certainly an excellent goalkeeper. We’ll see,” Van der Sar said.

The legendary goalkeeper also took the chance to comment on one of the transfers of the season between two of his former clubs that shook the footballing world, as Cristiano bid farewell to Juventus after three years to join boyhood club Manchester United.

“I didn’t expect his farewell to Juventus, he surprised me. But it’s always nice to see Cristiano at Old Trafford with the Red Devils jersey.”
