Al-Hilal Set to Sign Verratti, Plot to Pursue Osimhen

Al-Hilal could not lure Kylian Mbappé, but they will likely add Marco Verratti and pursue Victor Osimhen next. The Italian ace is on the verge of accepting their offer. PSG are set to cash in at least €30M from the sale. If there are no hitches, he’ll ink a three-year contract and earn €20/25M annually, SportMediaset informs.

The ex-Pescara star has been playing in Ligue 1 since 2012 when he joined in a €12M transfer. He’s a rare footballer with more caps with Italy than Serie A appearances. He had been linked to Liverpool and Atletico Madrid beforehand.

While Al-Hilal are expected to snap up Verratti, it’ll be a lot harder to come to terms for Osimhen. The Saudi outfit will table a large offer for Napoli and the striker, L’Equipe relays (via EuroSport).

On the other hand, the Nigerian star is in advanced talks to extend his contract with Napoli until 2027. The parties are having trouble agreeing to the amount of his future release clause. Aurelio De Laurentiis would gladly omit it from the contract altogether. Still, there’s optimism he’ll stay put this summer, Calciomercato informs.

Our Take on Al-Hilal, Verratti, and Osimhen

It’d be a shocker if they swayed Napoli and the marksman, but crazier things have happened. It’ll be interesting to see whether the move will affect the midfielder’s role within the Azzurri.
