Al-Nassr Announces Signing of Inter Stalwart Brozovic

Marcelo Brozovic has joined Al-Nassr. The Saudi team officialized his arrival through a tweet, ending a lengthy saga. Ultimately, the deal went through for an €18M fee. Instead, the midfielder will earn €100M over the span of the next three seasons, SportMediaset reports.

The operation seemed on the verge of collapsing last week due to disagreements between the player and his new side first, and then between the suitors and Inter, as they lowered their first proposal, which was €23M. The Nerazzurri accepted anyway as the decision had been made. They are expected to accelerate for Davide Frattesi.

Brozovic moves to Al-Nassr after eight and a half seasons in Milan. He raked up 330 appearances, scoring 31 times. He lifted five trophies, including one Scudetto, during his time in La Peninsula.

The Croat is coming off a challenging season where he dealt with a couple of major muscular problems. Coach Simone Inzaghi consistently turned to Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan with good returns.

Our Take on Brozovic and Al-Nassr

It’s a strong deal more for him than for Inter. The recent campaign and dangling him in the transfer market evidently strained the relationship. It’ll be interesting to see whether the profit is enough to push for Frattesi or if they need the more profitable André Onana to leave too.
