Al-Nassr Bid for Inter Star, Barcelona Still Interested

Al-Nassr are pursuing Marcelo Brozovic and lodged an offer to lure him. If the player accepted the move to Saudi Arabia, Inter would quickly proceed to seal the Davide Frattesi deal. They are in advanced talks with Sassuolo, but they need to sell somebody first, Sky informs.

The Middle-Eastern suitors tendered €15M for the Croat, whose name has floated in the rumor mill in the last couple of windows. A pair of muscular problems affected him in the past season. Hakan Calhanoglu adapted well to the deep-lying playmaker role in relief.

Per Alfredo Pedullà, on top of being chased by Al-Nassr, Brozovic is also an alternative target for Barcelona, should they miss out on Ilkay Gundogan. Inter and the Blaugrana often mulled swaps in previous months, but nothing came to fruition. The Nerazzurri demand €20M to part ways with their staple.

The 30-year-old is under contract until 2026. He appeared 40 times in 2022/2023, tallying 3 goals and 6 assists. He missed 10 Serie A matches and a few Champions League ones due to a calf and thigh injury.

Our Take on Inter, Brozovic, and Al-Nassr

Selling him would have been an absurd notion just a year ago when he was pivotal, but a lot changes in a campaign. The ideal pathway would be to add Frattesi and assemble a stacked midfield, but they don’t seem to have the economic strength for that.

Since Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan aren’t going anywhere, Kristjan Asllani will most likely get another shot, as they wouldn’t be able to recoup what they invested, and they aren’t entertaining the offers for Nicolò Barella, despite their alluring dimensions, the veteran is realistically the odd man out if they want to tweak something.
