Albertini Pinpoints Three Crucial Milan Players for the Future

Ex-Milan midfield ace Demetrio Albertini believes there are three players the Rossoneri management must focus upon in order to build a future around and propel the team to new heights. The Parma sporting director, who came through the ranks of the club’s youth system in the 1980’s, went on to etch himself as a significant figure in the historic Milan sides of Fabio Capello and Arrigo Sacchi respectively.

In an exclusive interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Albertini shed light on the Rossoneri trio he feels are key to the club’s success, spearheaded by Rafael Leao upfront.

“For Leao, a fundamental rule applies on the market: you can make a mistake in buying, but you cannot make a mistake in selling. Milan have known how to do it. Right now it’s hard to find a footballer around with Leao’s ability. He, Tonali and De Ketelaere are the future of the team.”

All three youngsters are understood to be held in high regard under manager Stefano Pioli.

Milan will look to bounce back from their 2-0 UEFA Champions League group stage home loss to Chelsea when they visit Hellas Verona at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Benetegodi over the weekend.
