Romagnoli Touted for Milan Exit, Replacement Identified

Milan captain and leader Alessio Romagnoli’s situation at San Siro is growing distant day by day, as he is still yet to renew his contract with the club.

The Roma youth product joined Milan at the start of the 2015/16 Serie A season and has since been a mainstay at the back but injuries and the emergence of Fikayo Tomori have restricted his overall appearances to just 11 across all competitions.

According to PianetaMilan, the centre-back could very well be on his way out of the club on a free transfer, when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

With a €5m net per season salary, Romagnoli is a high earner at San Siro and Milan want to reduce that given he is not a starter anymore. Moreover, the report states his agent Mino Raiola’s presence as a difficult hurdle to overcome.

In order to replace him, Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer has been identified as a prospective transfer. The 24-year-old Brazilian defender has a contract valid until June 2023 and given his market value of €15m, according to transfermarkt, he is a potential target for the Rossoneri.
