Sassuolo host league leaders Napoli next at the Stadio Citta del Tricolore, and coach Alessio Dionisi is wary of them team he is up against on Friday evening. Moreover, the Partenopei have lost just one of their last 14 games against Sassuolo in Serie A.
Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via FCInterNews), the former Empoli tactician warned his side of the threat Luciano Spalletti’s men possess.
“Napoli are clearly the strongest, they are well trained, organized and trustworthy. They could go two goals down and overturn the match without getting too excited. I told the boys that since I’ve been around, Napoli has been the team with which we scored the fewest points, together with Udinese, and the one with which we have the worst goal difference.”
Dionisi is aware of the fact that Napoli are well in contention for two of the most vital trophies, including the Champions League.
“I’d like to change things, but Napoli play against the some of big names in Europe at the moment.”
Dionisi is unbeaten in his last four league games. However, his men will face a Napoli outfit who have picked up 59 points from the first 22 league games, only behind Inter in 2006/07 (60) and Juventus in 2018/19 (60).
