Juventus held an open practice on Easter Monday, but it concluded on a sour note as Leandro Paredes and Massimiliano Allegri traded barbs at the end of it. The Argentine was the last one to enter the locker room, a few meters ahead of the boss. He openly vented for what has happened in the last few months, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The two went on discussing animatedly for a few minutes. The midfielder was eventually calmed down by his teammates but didn’t take part in the traditional barbecue. His nerves were already manifest in the Inter clash. He received a red card for quarreling with Danilo D’Ambrosio late in the game.

Paredes voiced his frustration with his lack of minutes. He has logged just 170 since February and very little in March. The coach picked Enzo Barrenechea over him a couple of times when he rested Manuel Locatelli. He came off the bench relatively early versus Lazio since the youngster wasn’t available. He had his best showing in a while, although he botched a good chance in the final minutes.

Juventus have long decided to move on from the veteran. They were no longer obliged to pay €20M to buy him out from PSG after the loan spell once they were eliminated from the Champions League. He came in with expectations of a major role. However, his early performances left a lot to be desired. Nicolò Fagioli ousted him as a regular pretty quickly.

According to the publication, the Bianconeri plot to reroute the sum they would have used for Paredes to try signing Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo, who’s now their top target at the position.
