Allegri: “Juventus Wasted Work of a Month in Five Days”

Massimiliano Allegri spoke to the media on the first day of the retreat: “We could reach the first objective of the season with two games to go with a win over Zenit. It would allow us to focus on Serie A more.”

“Matthijs De Ligt and Federico Chiesa are fine. Moise Kean, Mattia De Sciglio, and Aaron Ramsey are out. The others are available. It is tough to have a stable couple if the midfield given the schedule. The most important thing is to be more compact.”

Allegri commented on the team’s crisis: “We are all sorry and angry. We wasted in five days what we had built in a month a half. We had mounted a comeback, but we fell again. That needs to make us reflect and work harder. We have allowed 11 goals in 6 games against minnows. We just need to shut up right now. Who is successful is good; who loses is in the wrong. Explanations do not mean much. We just have to go out and win.”

“Alvaro Morata, Paulo Dybala and Chiesa can feature together and already did. The Spaniard has not become a poor player all of a sudden. The same goes for him and everybody else.”

Allegri concluded: “I want to stay at Juventus as long as possible to return to winning ways. It is not easy. We need time to rebuild. Things are not going well for us in Serie A, but we were in a good spot five days ago. We will have to take it step-by-step. I have a mature team that understands these moments. I do need to raise my voice. It is a matter of approach between big games and normal ones. We botched easy fixtures and they make a difference in the long run.”
