Allegri on Derby with Torino: “A Crossroad for Our Season”

Massimiliano Allegri previewed the Derby della Mole: “It is always a special game. We will face a Torino team that lives up to its name thanks to Ivan Juric. We will need the support of our fans. Hopefully, we have learned something since it will be the third tilt in a row against sides with similar styles.”

“We were playing well against Atalanta, and then we conceded a wonderful goal. The glass is half full. It is not easy to face them, so picking up a point was positive, especially if we won tomorrow. We have to keep going.”

Allegri announced that Leonardo Bonucci would miss the Derby: “He is dealing with muscle fatigue in his calf, and we will re-evaluate him ahead of Tuesday. Federico Bernardeschi is not ready, on top of the usual absentees, plus Danilo is suspended. I am not sure I will field the three strikers tomorrow. Juan Cuadrado will play as a right-back. Moise Kean is in better form now, and he will be in contention with Alvaro Morata. I have some doubts in the midfield too. I am happy with Luca Pellegrini: he has had a little dip, but he has recovered, and he is reliable.”

“We have been together for six or seven months and have gotten to know each other better. We have become more of a team, and we are eager to return to winning ways. Tomorrow’s fixture will be a nice crossroad for our season. Then we will focus on the Villarreal tilt, which will be different than the previous ones. We have important goals in mind.”

“We have to compliment Inter for how they played against Liverpool. There is some gap with certain teams. PSG, Bayern Munich, the English sides, and Real Madrid are the favorites in Champions League.”
