Allegri Previews Chelsea Clash: “An Important Test for Us”

Juventus will try to defend their top spot in the group against Chelsea tomorrow. Massimiliano Allegri discussed the match: “We will face a team that is leading Premier League and won the Champions League. They play differently with Romelu Lukaku, and they would be speedier without him. It will be an important test for us.”

The Bianconeri will be depleted: “We have four available defenders plus Koni De Winter. Dejan Kulusevski is fine, and he simply had a dentist appointment today. Danilo is out for two months. Mattia De Sciglio will return against either Atalanta or Salernitana. Giorgio Chiellini will resume practicing Wednesday. Federico Bernardeschi will be sidelined for a while. Alex Sandro will be back in the XI. Then we will see in the midfield.”

Allegri updated on Paulo Dybala’s status: “He will be called up, but I do not know how many minutes he can handle since he has been on the mend for a while.”

The coach was asked whether he will lean on 4-3-3 going forward: “It is a matter of traits. We have to improve offensively. We create dangerous situations, and then we miss the final pass. It almost cost us against Lazio. We have scored 18 goals and allowed 15. We have to produce more as a team.”

Allegri kept the lineup choices close to the vest: “Either Moise Kean or Alvaro Morata will feature, or maybe both. They did well against Lazio. Cristiano Ronaldo was the top scorer in any team he played for. We have a few attackers that can hit the net but are not right now. I am sure we will get there.”

Juventus have struggled more against the minnows: “We need to take that extra step. We have to find the right serenity and avoid rushing things.”
