Massimiliano Allegri previewed Wednesday’s Coppa Italia game versus Fiorentina: “We will not try anything new tomorrow, but we are ready. It is always nice to play in Florence. It will be the first of two legs, so scoring will be crucial. The Viola are well-coach coached, have strong players and will be motivated to reach the final.”
“I am not worried about injuries, as they are mostly traumatic ones. Paulo Dybala and Federico Bernardeschi will resume training fully Thursday. Alex Sandro will be back in ten days. We hope to have Denis Zakaria for the Villarreal fixture, while Giorgio Chiellini has a more uncertain timetable. Mattia De Sciglio will bite the bullet, while Leonardo Bonucci has been resting completely in the last two days. We have enough men and will have to tough it out until the next break.”
Allegri provided some hints about the lineup for the Fiorentina game: “Dusan Vlahovic will always be grateful to the city and the team that allowed him to reach Juventus. It is not a source of concern to us. I have yet to decide whether he will start, as he has played a lot of matches already. It would not be a choice to protect him, as he is calm even though it is inevitably a particular game for him. He gave us the serenity of having a capable scorer, but he had already laid the foundation before he joined. Moise Kean and Alvaro Morata can feature together. We need to be more alert defensively now.”
“I think one among Fabio Miretti, Marley Aké, and Matias Soulé will feature tomorrow. They have grown a lot and are quality players. However, they need to gain experience. In hindsight, I could have rested Dybala and Federico Chiesa more.”
