Allegri Talks Vlahovic, Chiesa, Berardi, and Magnanelli

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri discussed the level of fitness of Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa and more ahead of Saturday’s clash with Sassuolo (via Corriere dello Sport).

“They followed a specialized program for one day. The former due to back pain, the latter because of muscle fatigue in his flexor, but they are fully available for this one. Weston McKennie is fit despite a knock. Timothy Weah is good off the bench. He has to learn the league, but I’m very happy with him.”

Allegri was quizzed about Nicolò Fagioli potentially moving to the deep-lying playmaker position.

“He can do it, but we’d have to test it multiple times. I had already said that he’s a box-to-box/regista in 2017. He can become it over the years.”

The coach commented on Domenico Berardi, who was linked to the Old Lady.

“There were a few negotiations last summer, but we decided to continue with this group of players. We hope he doesn’t fare as well as he always does against us.”

The Bianconeri poached assistant coach Francesco Magnanelli from Sassuolo. Allegri praised him.

“He’s very good. Some collaborators have been with me for 18 years, while others are new like him and Simone Padoin. I’m happy with them. I like to pick capable ones. They are young guys that have the chance to work at Juventus. I’d be glad if they could branch out and become coaches on their own, like Paolo Bianco did. It’s a nice workgroup.”
