Allegri Wants to Sign Valencia Captain José Gaya

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is keen on signing Valencia captain Jose Gaya.

According to Catalan newspaper El Nacional, the Spaniard is not happy at the Mestalla because of the way Peter Lim is running the club. He wants to make a move away from Valencia and has attracted interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City.

Gaya wanted to sign for The Blaugrana but the club’s stance over him seems to have changed as new manager Xavi believes he can bring Jordi Alba to his best while also showing confidence in 18-year-old Alejandro Balde.

Allegri wants more depth in the left-back department and the Valencia skipper is his preferred choice because of his experience and the fact that he could be available for an affordable sum of €20m.

Gaya has been one of the best left-backs in La Liga and has started this season well for them, amassing two goals and as many assists in ten appearances across all competitions so far.

Right now, Juventus’ left-back options include Alex Sandro and Luca Pellegrini while Danilo and Mattia de Sciglio can play there too. However, having Gaya would really strengthen that department.
