After seeking a bench for a couple of years and being linked to a few Serie A jobs, Daniele De Rossi has found one, as SPAL teased the hiring by tweeting a modification of his iconic leg tattoo Monday. He will replace Roberto Venturato.

De Rossi is familiar with SPAL chairman Tacopina as the latter served as the Roma vice-president from 2011 to 2014 during the Thomas DiBenedetto era. He then acquired Bologna alongside Joey Caputo, but he left after just a year. He governed Venezia from 2015 to 2020. Finally, the tycoon bought the Ferraresi in July 2021. They finished 15th last season.
