Roma ace Paulo Dybala has been unable to appear even once for Argentina this FIFA World Cup, missing successive matches against Saudi Arabia and Mexico. However, Albiceleste coach Lionel Scaloni has commented on a potential first appearance for La Joya this showdown event against Poland in the last do-or-die group encounter.
Speaking to the press in his pre-match conference (via Voce Giallorossa) ahead of the game against Poland, Scaloni revealed why Dybala has been missing out on a starting berth in recent games.
“Paulo is fine. He doesn’t play by technical choice, we’ll see in the next game,” said the former Sevilla assistant manager.
Argentina sit second in Group C, just one point behind leaders Poland, who can qualify with a draw. Whereas, it is a must-win situation for the South Americans, who will hope Mexico hold Saudi Arabia off in the other clash. Both Argentina and Saudi are level on three points each.
The Albiceleste have a strong chance of facing reigning champions France in the first knockout phase.
