Arnautovic Arrives in Milan to Complete Inter Move

Inter announced the acquisition of Carlos Augusto, while Marko Arnautovic will formally join Wednesday if all goes to plan. The Nerazzurri will spend a pretty penny considering his age. They’ll shell out €8M plus €2M add-ons. The marksman reached Milan Tuesday evening, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays.

The Austrian talisman will sign a two-year contract and earn €3.7M plus add-ons. La Beneamata will save on taxes since he transferred to Italy from abroad less than five years ago.

Arnautovic previously spent the historic 2009/2010 at Inter on loan from Twente, making three appearances. He wasn’t retained and starred for Werder Bremen, Stoke City, West Ham, and Shanghai SIPG before heading back to the Peninsula. He tallied 24 goals in 54 appearances with Bologna.

The Nerazzurri might not be done tweaking their frontline, the outlet adds. They would sign another man if they offloaded Joaquin Correa. Alexis Sanchez, who’s out of contract, is an option. They could pursue Folarin Balogun again if his price tag decreased.

Our Take on Inter and Arnautovic

They needed somebody with his skillset after losing Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko. The fee is a tad high, but they had their back against the wall this late in the window. The Felsinei resisted but ultimately got what they wanted. There was no point in keeping a disgruntled veteran openly feuding with the coach.
