Lautaro Martinez’s future at Inter remains in the balance as a host of high-profile suitors emerge for the Argentine striker’s signature.
24-year-old Lautaro is the subject of burgeoning interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, with both clubs also trying to get Napoli marksman Victor Osimhen as an alternative.
However, of the two, it is Martinez who would arrive for marginally a lesser amount as compared to the Nigerian center-forward.
British outlet The Times (via The Express) mention of the fact that the Gunners are bolstered by their improved chances of qualifying for the Champions League – a factor that would play an important part in securing new signings.
In stark contrast, the Red Devils look likely to settle for the Europa League, and so do Tottenham Hotspur, as the Antonio Conte-led North Londoners are also in the fray for Martinez’s signature.
Last but not the least, the former Racing Club striker is understood to ‘like’ Atletico Madrid, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via FCInter1908). Diego Simeone is known to appreciate strengthening his side’s Argentine connection and Martinez would be a welcome addition to replace veteran Luis Suarez.
Inter will accept nothing less than €70-80m for their main striker.
Il Toro’s departure would undoubtedly bring in the required finances into Inter’s coffers, but the uncertainty of the player and the club’s stance on the matter remains.
