Lazio ace Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is in pole position to sign for Premier League leaders Arsenal following a relatively quiet winter transfer window for his standards. The 27-year-old Serbian will be entering the final year of his contract once this season finishes, and club president Claudio Lotito has long voiced his opinion to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
According to Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), recent talks between Mateja Kezman – the player’s agent – and Lotito led nowhere, only reinforcing a potential exit. Milinkovic-Savic reportedly does not want to continue negotiations.

Instead of losing him on a Bosman transfer, Lotito prefers on cashing in on the Serbian midfielder in the summer. A €50-60M will be entertained by Lazio, with the club management already strategizing the player’s exit in the summer transfer window in June.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are currently flying high atop the Premier League table and signing Milinkovic-Savic will only boost the Gunners’ reputation after a potential league win.
