Arsenal Interject Morata Talks Between Juventus and Atleti

Juventus are facing another foe in their attempt to retain Alvaro Morata, as Arsenal made an offer to Atletico Madrid. Barcelona had tried to lure him in January and continue to monitor the situation. The Bianconeri have a €35M option to buy him out. However, they do not want to spend that much to keep him.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Gunners have tendered £25M for the Spanish striker. It is the highest bid currently on the table of the Colchoneros. The Old Lady, which spent €20M to have him on loan in the past two seasons, wish to limit their final investment to €15-20M.

Morata would rather stay at Juventus than move to Arsenal, La Stampa reports. The center-forward was not comfortable in his previous 15 months in London. He notched 72 appearances with Chelsea between 2017 and 2019, scoring 24 goals. He had a bout with depression and missed out on the 2018 World Cup.

On the other hand, the Bianconeri need to come to terms with Atletico Madrid, and it is not certain it will happen. Therefore, a return to the Premier League can not be completely ruled out. Barcelona have a bigger fish to fry since they are chasing after Robert Lewandowski.

Juventus are keen on confirming Morata to avoid going through a complete rebuild of their frontline. Paulo Dybala will leave on a free, and Moise Kean is on loan too. They can have him for another campaign by paying €4M to Everton, but he has mostly been disappointing thus far.
