Arthur Headed to Fiorentina in Loan Deal from Juventus

Juventus and Fiorentina have come to terms regarding the loan spell of Arthur, who will take the medicals and sign with his new team Friday. The Brazilian midfielder is on the move again after an injury-riddled stint at Liverpool.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Old Lady will cover his wages in its entirety, but the Viola will pay an initial €2M fee and €2M add-ons based on his appearances. Moreover, they’ll have a €20M option to buy.

Arthur extended his contract with Juventus, pushing the expiry date to 2027, before joining Fiorentina to reduce his annual salary. Coach Vincenzo Italiano raved about the newcomer to TGR Rai Toscana.

“We all like him. We saw he could be very useful to the way we play. I’m sure he’ll give us a lot.”

The 26-year-old has logged 63 appearances with the Bianconeri, scoring and assisting once, after joining from Barcelona.

Our Take on Arthur to Fiorentina

It’s a nice little flier for the Viola, but his campaign will have to go really well for him to stay permanently. He had very little continuity in the past. It’s still unclear whether he has the pace and physicality to hang in Serie A and what his best role in the midfield is. In addition, he won’t be handed the starting job as they already have a sound structure.
