Aston Villa Eye Ex-Chelsea Striker Abraham from Roma

Roma striker Tammy Abraham has experienced huge growth since his move to Serie A from Chelsea last year. The 25-year-old arrived at the Stadio Olimpico on a five-year contract and immediately shone under Jose Mourinho in his first season, scoring 27 goals in 53 appearances for the Giallorossi.

Despite not finding his footing as often this season, the Englishman is garnering interest back from his home nation. As per La Reppublica (via Voce Giallorossa), two Premier League clubs – Aston Villa and Arsenal – are interested in luring the highly-rated forward.

Of the two, it is Villa who seem more eager since newly appointed manager Unai Emery is said to a huge admirer of Abraham’s playing style. He spent one season on loan there back in 2018/19.

However, the ex-Chelsea player is highly focused on getting back in form with Roma, having scored just 4 goals this season so far. Nevertheless, a move for Abraham cannot entirely be ruled out, especially with the underlying temptation to return to the Premier League.
