Atalanta Chief Aims at Further Bolstering the Squad

Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi is pleased with the fast start of his team and vowed to keep adding to it in January. He spoke with TuttoSport (via Fantacalcio).

“I think we earned all the points we collected so far. We hope to keep doing well. The bond with our land always comes firm. We’ve had many confirmations from the incumbent players and the new ones. Our soul is always very strong. We can grow even further.”

Percassi revisited their strong summer.

“I have to thank the owners, my father and Steven Pagliuca, for the transfer market funds. We made unprecedented investments. It was our desire and an opportunity. The coach cares a lot about the frontline in particular, and we’re on the same page. We strongly pursued Gianluca Scamacca because we were certain we would bring back to Italy a striker with great potential.”

The exec was quizzed about whether Atalanta would add a defender in January.

“I don’t want to go into detail because plans are always subject to change, but the goal of the brass is always to reinforce the squad.”

La Dea extended the contract of Gian Piero Gasperini till 2025.

“I can confirm that. We decided when we met at the beginning of June.”

Atalanta will face Inter in the next round.

“They have proven to be the best and most complete team in Serie A so far. Kudos for the squad they assembled, but we want to do well in front of our fans.”
