Atalanta Coach Gian Piero Gasperini Previews Inter Clash

Atalanta host Inter visit Atalanta in one of Serie A’s most anticipated matches before the World Cup break, and La Dea coach Gian Piero Gasperini backs his side to bounce back from their loss against Lecce.

Speaking to DAZN (via FCInter1908), Gasperini shed light on a couple of topics, including the return of Jose Luis Palomino following his acquittal from doping charges.

“Palomino? I don’t know if he will already be there with Inter, but we will evaluate. He only joined yesterday, he is definitely trained from a physical point of view, but he needs to find the pitch, the game and the matches.”

He said Atalanta will first recover and then be fully ready for the Nerazzurri match.

“We will prepare well for Inter, draw information from previous matches. We need to recover some ailments we have and then we will be ready on Sunday.”

Both sides are stuck at 27 points apiece, with Inter just one place above Atalanta in fourth position going into the clash.
