It is no secret how many clubs are interested in luring Atalanta prodigy Giorgio Scalvini, who has impressed more than most since breaking through to the first team under Gian Pier Gasperini two seasons ago. Despite the defender’s steep price tag, clubs are continuing to pile for a summer market tussle.
Latest reports from FCInterNews indicate that Chelsea have joined Inter and Napoli in scouting the youngster’s availability ahead of next season. There is no shortage of suitors from abroad either, with Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Atletico Madrid all interested in Scalvini.

However, the Nerazzurri have the edge in negotiations as per recent developments. Inter chief Beppe Marotta has been eyeing Scalvini as the potential heir to PSG-bound Milan Skriniar for quite a while now. Simone Inzaghi affirms the 19-year-old’s capabilities as well, perhaps seeing him as the perfect fit in his three-man backline.
But for the deal to come through with Inter, despite Atalanta’s intention of using makeweight, the inclusion of Reggina loanee Giovanni Fabbian could turn the tide in the negotiations for Scalvini. Calciomercato reports of Gasperini being an admirer of Fabbian, who has shone in Serie B this season
#Inter’s Ceo Beppe #Marotta to Radio1: : “We are looking #Frattesi (Sassuolo) and #Scalvini (Atalanta). #Lukaku? He is very happy here, but he will return to #Chelsea at the end of the season. Then it will see what happens and we will try to reach a solution”. #transfers #CFC

Nonetheless, Atalanta are in no urgency to sell their prized stopper. There is a good chance his €40M valuation could drastically increase, given La Dea’s potential presence in Europe next season, as well as his inclusion in the first-team for UEFA Euro 2024. Scalvini is contracted with the Bergamo outfit until 2027.
