Atalanta Eye Leipzig Winger, Inter and Arsenal Deals Lagging

Atalanta have set their sights on Ademola Lookman, who is back at RB Leipzig after two consecutive loan spells in the Premier League. He fared well in the most season at Leicester City, tallying 8 goals and 5 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions. He played at Fulham in 2020/2021.

As per Sky, the versatile attacker is not part of the plans of the Bundesliga side. He is likely to be on the move again. His contract runs out in 2024. Other English clubs are chasing after him too, though. La Dea director Lee Congerton, who was poached earlier this year, was part of the Foxes management in the first half of the previous campaign.

On top of Lookman, Atalanta continue to pursue Nuno Tavares and Andrea Pinamonti. However, the parties need to continue negotiating to get on the same page. Arsenal are open to loaning out the fullback, but the Bergamaschi want to get an option to buy at a reasonable price. Instead, the Gunners asked for €40M in an outright sale.

Furthermore, the Orobici offered €16M for the striker, while La Benemata demanded €20M, La Repubblica reports. While they might be able to meet in the middle, Inter would like to insert a buy-back clause in the deal. Sassuolo might be more lenient on it. They are likely to table a strong offer after selling Gianluca Scamacca.

Our Take on Atalanta Tracking Lookman and Pinamonti

La Dea has already invested a pretty penny with no major sales. They probably would have already proceeded on that front if they were plotting some particularly profitable ones. If Duvan Zapata and Luis Muriel both stayed, the winger would make sense to add versatility and pace. Instead, Pinamonti figures to be more of a replacement for one of the two Colombians.
