Atalanta are still on the hunt for a central midfielder with a move for AZ Alkmaar’s Teun Koopmeiners not seeming to materialize anytime soon. The Dutch club have reportedly asked Atalanta to meet their €18m valuation. This has prompted the La Dea to look into a certain Sampdoria midfielder.
Il Doria’s versatile Norwegian midfielder Morten Thorsby, who can function well in both attacking and defensive thirds, is being linked heavily to Atalanta – according to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 25-year-old has a transfer market value of €7m, according to transfermarkt and fits right within Atalanta’s bill.
He has previously been linked to several clubs this transfer window, including Premier League outcasts Watford. However, negotiations between the Watford and the Serie A did not formalize into actual talks.
The central midfielder, who is known for his strong commitment towards sustainability and green initiatives, might see a move to Bergamo as a step above Genoa, as Atalanta prepare to compete in the Champions League this season.
