Atalanta have overtaken Torino in the race to sign Rodrigo Becao from Udinese. The defender is eager to leave, and the Friulani will eventually comply. His contract runs out in 2024, and he has no intention of extending it.
According to OneFootball, La Dea proposed €8M. It’s the same fee they had offered to Hellas Verona to onboard Isak Hien, which was turned down. The Bianconeri asked for a bigger number to the Turkish clubs that previously targeted the center-back.
Atalanta are currently outbidding Torino by €1M for Becao. It doesn’t appear the Granata will raise their previous offer at this stage. Per Messaggero Veneto, the Zebrette would like to get €12M including bonuses. However, they want to solve the matter sooner rather than later.
They have earmarked Ethan Ampadu to replace the veteran. He starred for Spezia and Venezia in the past two seasons. A few other teams are eyeing the Chelsea talent too, though.

He’s one of the best specialists of the three-man defense around. The only quibble is that he plays in the same role as Rafael Toloi, but perhaps they will just alternate given the busier schedule. The Bergamaschi have been surgical and cost-effective with their additions so far. It’s possibly a hint that they aren’t planning any big sales.
