Atalanta Made Unsuccessful €15m bid for Empoli teenager

Atalanta reportedly made a bid of €15m for Empoli teenager Mattia Viti but it was rejected.

According to Calciomercato.comLa Dea wanted to sign the defender and made a bid of €15m for him. However, Empoli rejected their offer and are willing to make him a regular for the team.

Viti has been a part of the Azzurri’s youth setup and has risen up the ranks to the first team. This season, the 19-year-old has made seven appearances under Aurelio Andreazzoli.

Atalanta lost Cristian Romero this summer but have some good centre-backs in their squad that include Rafael Toloi, Jose Luis Palomino, Berat Djimsiti and Merih Demiral. Hence, Viti would have been a redundant signing for them.

The teenager has done well in the few appearances he has made for Empoli, who are currently 11th in the Serie A table. Hence, there is a good chance that other clubs would be looking to sign him.
