Atalanta Make Move for Sturm Graz Attacking Prodigy

Danish attacking prodigy Rasmus Hojlund, who plays for Sturm Graz, is in the sights of Atalanta, as Calciomercato reports. La Dea is exploring potential deals for a young forward, and the 19-year-old appears to have gained their attention.

The Denmark U19 international is linked with leaving the Austrian side this summer amidst interest from a host of top-tier clubs, including Premier League hotshots Newcastle United, Belgian giants Club Brugge and Spanish minnows Celta Vigo. Much of the spotlight has beckoned due to his fantastic performances as of late – bagging 12 goals and 4 assists in 21 appearances for Sturm Graz since arriving from Copenhagen.

Atalanta have reportedly initiated first contact for Hojlund, who is touted to be one of Denmark’s finest prospects in recent years. Often likened to be his country’s very own Erling Haaland, he’s a talented young prospect with little big-league experience.

His contract is valid until the summer of 2026, and the Bergamaschi are closely following the developments, having already approached his club. He has a transfermarkt value of €4M, but Sturm Graz’s valuation of him is not yet known.

Atalanta currently have two strikers aged 31 in their ranks – Luis Muriel and Duvan Zapata – and Ruslan Malinovskyi is facing a highly uncertain future.
