Atalanta Not Willing to Discuss Departure of Star Duo

A few major European tabs are intrigued by Teun Koopmeiners and Giorgio Scalvini, but Atalanta fully plan to hold onto them in January. Unless somebody comes over the top with an exorbitant offer, they’ll finish the season in Bergamo, and La Dea will see where things are at in the summer, Alfredo Pedullà informs.

Real Madrid and Manchester United are keeping tabs on the defender. Atletico Madrid tried a few times last summer but to no avail. He extended his contract afterward.

While Scalvini has more suitors abroad, Koopmeiners has drawn the attention of Juventus and Napoli in Serie A, but Atalanta value him very highly. His agent stated that they turned down €48M from the Azzurri.

The Orobici want to keep the pair to fuel their Champions League ambitions. They are currently eighth with a five-point deficit from the fourth position.

Our Take on Atalanta, Scalvini, and Koopmeiners

They’ll have the pick of the litter if they dangled them on the transfer market, but it’d be a shocker if it happened in January. They haven’t been very consistent lately, but the race is wide open.

Their summer will be very interesting, as they won’t lack bids, but they won’t dismantle their team either. If they missed out on the Champions League, the Dutchman, who’s also older and closer to his full potential, will be more likely to depart than the budding defender.
