Atalanta Offered Tottenham Goalkeeper to Lazio and Others

Atalanta have begun searching for a new team for Pierluigi Gollini, as Tottenham might terminate the loan spell of the goalkeeper early. La Dea moved on from him by signing Juan Musso. The 26-year-old has not managed to unseat Hugo Lloris. He has featured only in European Conference League and Carabao Cup so far.

According to local newspaper L’Eco di Bergamo, the Nerazzurri offered him to Lazio. The Biancocelesti were lukewarm on the proposal, although their situation between the sticks is fluid. Maurizio Sarri recently promoted Thomas Strakosha at the expense of Pepe Reina. Both shot-stoppers are on expiring contracts. Still, they would need to part ways with one before signing a new option.

Gollini left Atalanta to join Tottenham on a season-long loan with a €15M option to buy. Even if he does end up staying in January, he is highly unlikely to be bought out. The Spurs are currently negotiating an extension to keep Lloris, The Daily Mail reports. They would look at other targets if they ultimately could not come to terms with him.

Lazio will probably be in the market for a new starter next summer, but they have different plans. They are keeping tabs on Alex Meret, who is not playing at Napoli. Plus, Sarri is a big fan of Kepa Arrizabalaga, but it is not easy to sign him from Chelsea. Samir Handanovic has been mildly linked to the Biancocelesti too. Atalanta will probably have better chances to find a new landing spot for the current Tottenham goalkeeper in July.
