Atalanta Reprise Negotiating to Purchase Verona Pillar

Atalanta have reopened talks with Verona to sign Isak Hien. La Dea plans to replace Merih Demiral with a quality option in the back. They had targeted the Scaligeri star earlier in the summer but could not come to terms with the counterparty.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the two sides are mulling a multi-player deal that may need time to come together. The starting point is an €8M fee plus young midfielder Jacopo Da Riva, who starred for Como and SPAL in the past two seasons.

Verona wish to obtain one wingback from Atalanta in the Hien package. They are keen on Nadir Zortea, who scored in the opener, but he might stay if the Bergamaschi don’t acquire a top-end option. Matteo Ruggeri also fared well versus Udinese, getting the nod over newcomer Mitchel Bakker. The remaining option is Brandon Soppy.

Per Gianluca Di Marzio, Torino are also after the Swedish international. Either way, the Scaligeri are poised to turn a sizable profit considering they purchased him for €3.2M from Djurgarden last summer. He contributed to 6 clean sheets in 32 appearances last season.

Our Take on Atalanta and Hien

The Orobici have acted suspiciously slowly on two primary targets, him and Emil Holm, despite the Demiral windfall. Either they are weighing a convoluted deal with Verona or have different aces up their sleeves.
