Atalanta Reveal Zapata Valuation Amid Newcastle Interest

Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata is on the club’s transfer list, as per latest information from Bergamo. The Colombian was close to moving to West Ham United in January, with Newcastle United also keeping close tabs, but in the end he stayed put at the Nerazzurri. It is now reported that the Magpies are back in the hunt for his signature.

As per local Italian newspaper L’Eco Di Bergamo (via Calcio Atalanta), Eddie Howe’s Newcastle could make a new attempt to sign him in the summer after his valuation by Atalanta was revealed – a cut price around the €25m mark.

It is no secret that the Magpies have been on the hunt for a striker to boost their ranks, with Alexander Isak and Armando Broja also pursued before.

However, Zapata seems a likely contender to jump aboard the Premier League ship after repeated attempts by Newcastle in the 2022 winter transfer window.

The Colombian will be at St. James’ Park at the end of July to play friendly against Newcastle United.

Zapata is one of the many Atalanta players deemed expendable, with Luis Muriel, Joakim Maehle, Hans Hateboer, Aleksei Miranchuk, Josip Ilicic and Sam Lammers being the other names.
