Atalanta Set to Sign Gianluca Scamacca

Despite the arrival of El Bilal Toure from Almeria in a club-record deal only last week, Atalanta are on the verge of completing another massive attacking coup. According to Fabrizio RomanoLa Dea and West Ham United have defined an agreement for Gianluca Scamacca to return to Serie A.

Atalanta will reportedly shell out €25m upfront plus €5m in add-ons to seal the deal. The Italians have also included a 10% sell-on clause in West Ham’s favor to spice it up and win the race for Scamacca’s signature. The 24-year-old’s move to the Gewiss Stadium comes out of thin air.

Inter and Roma were long thought to be the leading candidates to facilitate the former Sassuolo striker’s return to Italy. Moreover, Scamacca looked hellbent on rejoining the Giallorossi eight years after leaving the club’s youth academy.

However, the West Ham outcast will link up with Atalanta after one of the most expected turn of events this summer. With Scamacca and Toure, Gasperini will have two exciting young prospects in the front third despite losing Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United.

The Danish prodigy is on the brink of completing his big-money move to Old Trafford. But instead of basking themselves in the hefty profits, Atalanta have reinvested a large portion of the €75m they’ve earned from his sale to reinforce Gasperini’s roster.

Scamacca will soon become the club’s fourth summer signing after Toure, Mitchel Bakker, and Sead Kolasinac.
