Roma have been linked to buying a striker, with Alejo Veliz, Wout Weghorst and Marko Arnautovic in the fray, but Belotti is least bothered.

Atalanta Start Eyeing Belotti but Milan Have Inside Track

Atalanta have set their sights on Andrea Belotti too, but Milan remain firmly in the lead. The Torino captain recently returned to the stat-sheet in the Derby Della Mole following a major injury. He has given his clear priority to the Rossoneri, Alfredo Pedullà reports.

Despite the Granata’s wishes, he is determined to depart at the end of his expiring contract. It would be a surprise if he changed his mind at this point, the transfer market expert adds. The striker plans to take his time in picking his next destination.

Belotti has Milan squarely atop his shortlist and will not sign elsewhere until they fully close the doors on bringing him in. The Rossoneri have not made their call on him. They plot to invest lavishly in other roles, such as the defense and the midfield. For such reason, they will consider acquiring a reliable striker for cheap, especially if Zlatan Ibrahimovic re-upped with them.

At this stage, Il Gallo is not seriously considering foreign options, Pedullà adds. Atalanta are going after him as Duvan Zapata and Luis Muriel were both close to leaving at some point in the past calendar year. His family resides in Calcinate, which is 15 kilometers away from Bergamo. He spent the early portion of his career at nearby Albinoleffe. Whether it will be Milan, Atalanta, or another side, Belotti prefers staying in Serie A. Instead, Napoli have not made a move for him since they have no plans to sell Victor Osimhen in the summer.
