Atalanta Step Up Interest for Milan Youngster, Eye Juventus Defender

After inquiring, Atalanta are set to move forward in the negotiation to sign Tommaso Pobega for Milan. The Rossoneri want €12M for the midfielder. The Bergamaschi are confident they will be able to reach an agreement and add him to their squad, Sky Sport report.

Atalanta have been one of the most active teams at the start of the transfer market. They have basically closed the deal for Udinese’s Juan Musso and are plotting further moves. Pobega would be less expensive than Teun Koopmeiners, as AZ Alkmaar turned down a €15M offer and requested €20M. The Italian midfielder scored 6 goals in 20 appearances on loan at Spezia last season.

The Nerazzurri are planning to add more depth also on the flanks as well. They have opened talks with Fiorentina for Pol Lirola. The fullback played at Olympique Marseille in the last six months. While the French club did not pick up the option to buy, they remain interested and could soon place a bid to get him on a permanent deal. In this case, Atalanta could try to arrange a swap, Tuttomercatoweb reports.

On the other wing, the Orobici are among the teams tracking Juventus youngster Gianluca Frabotta, the specialized site informs. The defender is also on Genoa and Empoli radar, but Massimiliano Allegri might take a look at him before okaying the sale. The Bianconeri are always keen on making a profit to help their balance sheets. Frabotta moved to Turin from Bologna for €2.6M. He made 17 appearances with the first team last season, mostly off the bench.
