Atalanta Take an Interest in Napoli and Roma Forwards

Atalanta could end their window by adding another versatile attacker and have approached Napoli for Giacomo Raspadori. La Dea has set aside €20/25M for an addition. The counterparty’s decision is up in the air at this point. They were fielding offers for Cyril Ngonge in previous days. They’ll keep one of the two, Alfredo Pedullà informs.

The two sides already negotiated earlier in the summer for Michael Folorunsho. The deal wasn’t finalized as the Bergamaschi suddenly needed a striker after Gianluca Scamacca’s injury. The Marco Brescianini affair doesn’t appear to have affected their relationship.

If Atalanta can’t sign Raspadori, they’ll take Stephan El Shaarawy into consideration, as Roma might soon onboard Alexis Saelemaekers. Moreover, their officials are mulling over pursuing Lille’s Edon Zhegrova and Feyenoord’s Igor Paixao.

The Bergamaschi signed Nicolò Zaniolo but he’s been banged up right away. He’s been dealing with foot and this issues. Ademola Lookman is more likely to stay than to leave. Per Corriere dello Sport (via Fantacalcio), the Azzurri value their attacker more but are open to getting Davide Zappacosta as part of the package.

Our Take on Atalanta and Raspadori

Gian Piero Gasperini is happier the more weapons he has at his disposal. While he can play around with his new attacking midfielders, they don’t have a true alternative for Lookman or Retegui and have a lot of lefties. The Italian international would be able to handle both duties. They have yet to take a shot on a foreign prodigy this summer, and perhaps they’ll do it to address this need.
