Young Genoa wingback Andrea Cambiaso has emerged on the radars of almost every other Italian heavyweight since showcasing his skills in his debut Serie A season in 2021/22, where he appeared 28 times for the Rossoblù, and Atalanta have been the latest to set sights on him. It has long been known of Inter’s interest in the 22-year-old defensive prodigy, with the emergence of Juventus in the picture only spicing things up.
According to La Stampa, a Derby d’Italia rivalry is burgeoning in the transfer market for the youngster between Juventus and Inter, and the former is touted to have overtaken the latter in the race for his signature.
The Nerazzurri have sealed the deal for Cagliari talent Raoul Bellanova, and the Genoa defender seems to be in the background at the moment. Cambiaso could be loaned out if he joined a top team, while Atalanta could give him the starting job right away, Tuttomercatoweb informs.
The Italy U21 wingback, who is a regular in the national youth team, is the subject of heightened interest among Italian clubs, but it is Juventus who are making waves.
Sporting director Federico Cherubini reportedly met his Grifone counterpart Johannes Spors, to discuss the deal, offering Romanian defender Radu Dragusin plus €3M. Although Inter are ready to raise their proposal to €6M in cash only, Alfredo Pedullà informs.
As per the report, an auction is underway, as Atalanta are also pondering to put up a first proposal in Genoa’s way. However, the club want nothing short of €10M for the highly-rated starlet, but would definitely not rule out a swap transfer including money.
