Barcelona Delegates in Porto to Assess Deal with Inter

Barcelona took advantage of Inter’s visit to Porto midweek in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie to hold a summit with Inter executives, with the transfer market in mind.

According to Catalan newspaper Sport (via FCInterNews), Blaugrana officials Joan Laporta and Mateu Alemany were present at the Estadio do Dragao to speak with Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio.

The negotiations between the respective clubs’ CEO & sporting director were held with the priority for the summer transfer market, particularly involving a swap deal between Franck Kessie and Marcelo Brozovic. The Nerazzurri have reportedly made Kessie their number-one target for the summer despite the Ivorian being favored in the latter part of the season. Croatian midfielder Brozovic is almost certain to leave the Italians at the end of the season, and he could very well take up the chance to experience Spanish football.

Reportedly, Jordi Alba and Lecce loanee Samuel Umtiti’s names were also on the table. Barcelona and Inter will continue to evaluate the opportunity to send their respective players the other way.
