Barcelona Hand Inter and Juventus Massive Miralem Pjanic Transfer Boost

Inter and Juventus could embroil in a transfer battle for Miralem Pjanic after Barcelona decided to sever ties with the Bosnian. According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants are ready to offload the midfielder without receiving a compensation fee as they look to trim the squad down.

Pjanic swapped Juventus for Camp Nou last summer only to become a rotation player in Ronald Koeman’s set-up. The 31-year-old has been on a downward spiral, making just six La Liga starts for Barcelona in 2020/21 as he looks to exit Spain for regular first-team action.

The Blaugrana are seemingly ready to enable Pjanic to secure a new challenge this summer, having already informed the player he can leave on a free. With Barca preparing to dispatch the former Roma playmaker, Inter and Juventus are on their toes, as is Paris Saint-Germain. All three sides are understood to be big admirers of the Bosnian.

A return to Turin looks like a feasible solution, especially following Massimiliano Allegri’s reappointment. The Italian tactician navigated Pjanic’s rise to prominence during his first managerial stint at the Allianz Stadium and is enthusiastic about the idea of a reunion.

Meanwhile, Inter are also keeping close tabs on Pjanic, particularly in light of another injury-puzzled season from Stefano Sensi. Moreover, Arturo Vidal’s exit has become a near-certainty, which threatens to leave newly-appointed Simone Inzaghi short of reliable options in the midfield.

Elsewhere, PSG are always attentive when it comes to household names, as witnessed by their recent signing of Sergio Ramos. However, Paris’ involvement in the race for Pjanic should be taken with a grain of salt following Georginio Wijnaldum’s arrival from Liverpool earlier this summer.

Chelsea and Tottenham are also said to be exploring the idea of handing the deep-lying playmaker a short-term deal in the Premier League. So despite his Barcelona wobble, Pjanic will not lack suitors if he walks away from Camp Nou in the upcoming period.
