Barcelona Weigh Premier League Bids for Ex-Milan Star

Franck Kessié hasn’t been able to establish himself at Barcelona following a Bosman move from Milan. The Catalans are entertaining offers from Premier League sides. They are considering selling him to turn in a decent profit since they got him for free.

According to Futbol Total and Sport, Aston Villa and Fulham are keen on the Ivorian powerhouse. The Cottagers could propose up to €22M to sign him in the next window. Being eliminated from the Champions League could prompt the Blaugrana to pull the trigger to recoup some money and help their finances.

Kessié has started five times for Barcelona for a total of 400 minutes. He recently picked up a significant hamstring strain, but the break will allow him to miss just a couple of matches despite its severity.

The 25-year-old has scored once in 13 appearances in Spain. While some linked him to a move back to Milan a couple of weeks ago, his agent George Atangana dismissed the buzz to Mundo Deportivo (via ItaSportPress).

“They are fake news. He doesn’t want to leave, and he’s happy here. He has just arrived and it’s normal for him to need some time to adjust to his new side and to the playing style of a coach like Xavi.”

Our Take on Kessié and Barcelona

The midfielder has left a hole that the Rossoneri have yet to replace, especially from the muscularity and leadership standpoint. The transfer to Catalunya looked like a weird fit from the get-go. He would be much more apt for English football, but it would be stunning if he left so soon after joining.
