Barrow Brace Seals Bologna Comeback Win Over Cagliari

Bologna claimed all three points at home to Cagliari in Serie A tonight, thanks to a Musa Barrow brace sealing the 3-2 comeback win. Both teams started the evening in the bottom-half of the Serie A table.

Bologna on the back of three-straight defeats in the league were looking for their second win of the season after a Coppa Italia victory over Reggina last time out, whilst Cagliari were aiming for a third-straight win in the division.

It was the visiting Cagliari who started strongest too; captain Joao Pedro had an early chance thwarted by Lukasz Skorupski before giving his side the lead on 15 minutes. Bologna though were keeping Cagliari keeper Alessio Cragno busy through the first 45, with Musa Barrow looking sharpest.

Chances came to any and every Bologna payer in the first-half but it was Barrow who found an equalizer just before half-time, curling a wicked shot into the top corner from inside the box.

But just two minuts after the restart, Cagliari’s lead was restored through Giovanni Simeone. Bologna were back at square one, trailing to a lucky yet persistent Cagliari side on the night, but Bologna’s strenth shone through and they were level again only five minutes later.

Roberto Soriano fired a low shot into the bottom corner from just outside the box to mark his fourth goal in six Serie A appearances this season, adding to what was an entertainging night at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

At 2-2 the game looked open, and the next goal was only a matter of time. How long? Four minutes; Barrow again would finish from close range to give Bologna the lead for the first time in the game, and it was a lead they’d make last.

Nothing much happened after the firth goal of the game, capping a thrilling hour of football from both sides. The substitutes wouldn’t make much of a difference for either team, but Bologna deservedly claimed the points tonight.
