Alessandro Bastoni dished on the first leg of the EuroDerby and debated with Sandro Tonali in a double interview for Prime Video (via Alfredo Pedullà).
“It’s meaningful for Inter to return to this stage after so much time. I’ve thought about Milan right after we built a 3-1 lead over Benfica. It was magical when the fans lit up the flares after the goal, it was perhaps the best moment of my football life.”
The center-back looked back at the previous encounter between the two teams in this cup.
“They ended in two ties, which would lead to extra time now. I had yet to be born, but I comprehend the drama. However, this year’s edition can’t constitute an act of revenge, even though I’ve often heard about it.”
Bastoni hailed Nicolò Barella, whom he assisted against Benfica.
“He and I have a great relationship off the pitch, so we are eager to build one while playing too. He often makes that cut and just needs to be fed correctly to score.”
The Nerazzurri star has dished the most helpers out of any defender in the Champions League.
