Bastoni Downplays Tottenham and Manchester United Links

Alessandro Bastoni has been mentioned as one of the players Inter might sacrifice in the summer to turn in a profit considering his high value. The defender, who is on the radar of some Premier League giants, is in no rush to leave.

He spoke about his future to Sky after the Nations League game versus Hungary.

“I have two more years on my contract with Inter. I am very serene. The management has not told me anything. I will go on vacation after the next two Italy matches and then report to the Appiano Gentile training center in July.”

According to the outlet, Tottenham and Manchester United are after him. Both sides are looking for a left-footed center-back. The Spurs have been in touch with his entourage but have not tabled a bid yet. The Red Devils have a large budget as well. They have Bastoni and Sven Botman atop their shortlist for the role. They are eager to strengthen the squad after hiring Erik Ten Hag.

Inter demand €60/70M to sell the 23-year-old. They would go after Bremer and Marcos Senesi in that event, Corriere dello Sport informs.

Our Take on the Future of Bastoni

Inter could be in for another rough summer in terms of departures, although Bastoni is not clamoring to flee, unlike Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi in 2021. It would be tough to replace him properly. The Nerazzurri would be better off working around the edges rather than forcing out stars that want to stay.
