Bastoni Keen on Staying at Inter for Rest of His Career

Alessandro Bastoni is only 25 but doesn’t rule out spending the remainder of his career at Inter. He spoke about his future and more to Sky.

“I feel likely saying I could stay here forever, especially after the celebrations and the affection shown by everybody. Then, it’s clear that it’s easy to rejoice when things go well. However, I’ve gone through bitter disappointments as well, like the Scudetto we lost in 2022 and the defeat in the Champions League final. But the fans showered us with love in those instances as well. I’d like to repay that.”

Bastoni heaped praise on Simone Inzaghi.

“He brought an evolution because we were using a classic 3-5-2 beforehand. I like to play wider, and we have the chemistry to know what each teammate will do every time. He has been impactful, and that’s what I’d like to be too. He conveyed the tranquility to go on the pitch and do our thing.”

Bastoni also complimented Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

“The former inherited a great responsibility because we had Samir Handanovic, who was a big personality in the locker room last year. He interprets it differently given his age, he asks for advice from the veterans and shares the burden. I like that a lot.”

“Thuram surprised me. I didn’t think he could have such a strong approach in our football. He hadn’t impressed me when we faced Borussia Monchengladbach. He’s intelligent in his movements and helps the team a lot.”
