Bayer Leverkusen Eye Roma Outcast to Succeed EPL Bound Diaby

German outfit Bayer Leverkusen are monitoring a certain Roma midfielder to become their star winger Moussa Diaby’s successor. Diaby is on the sights of several Premier League giants and his departure could very well direct Leverkusen towards Giallorossi midfielder Carles Perez, according to reports from Sport1.

The Barcelona youth product is said to have attracted the interest of the Bundesliga club’s sporting director Simon Rolfes and team manager Tim Steidten.

Perez is contracted with the capital giants until the summer of 2024 and is yet to settle his way into Jose Mourinho’s plans, having made just 21 appearances this season – registering 777 playing minutes in total this campaign. Mourinho has made it clear to Perez that he will not stand in way if an offer arrives from a top club.

Roma paid Barcelona €13m for the player’s services at the start of the 2020/21 season, but he will be available for less than half that price tag, as his transfermarkt value lies at €6m.

The ex-Barca player is not short of suitors in the transfer market, with a few Spanish clubs also hot on his trail, including Valencia, who are being linked with a swap move for their winger Goncalo Guedes.
