Lazio have long set their sights on Alessio Romagnoli, but they have not come to terms with him just yet. His contract with Milan expires in June.

Alessio Romagnoli is bound to play his final match for Milan as his side prepare to take on Sassuolo on matchday 38. A draw or a win will settle the Rossoneri’s first Scudetto title in over a decade, earning the captain’s only second club title after Milan’s Supercoppa Italiana shield in 2016. His four-year contract ends in June.

According to reports from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the 27-year-old stopper is being followed closely by a trail of clubs, including Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Sevilla. Of the three aforementioned clubs, it is the latter two who are extensively probing the transfer market in search of backline reinforcements.

Additionally, even Barcelona are interested in the left-footed centre-back .

Milan have offered Romagnoli a €3m net per season deal – an offer that still stands for the Roma youth product, who seems likely to head to the Giallorossi’s eternal rivals Lazio after being linked to them throughout the current season. However, talks with Lazio have hit a standstill for a couple of months.

Romagnoli has 246 appearances for Milan since joining from Sampdoria in 2014/15, where he was on loan.
