Bayern Munich Defender Very High on Inter Shortlist

Inter will have a few months to prepare for life after Milan Skriniar and, following a deadline-day attempt, Benjamin Pavard remains on their radar for the summer. It’ll depend on other moves, but they might ultimately add more than one defender, Corriere dello Sport informs.

The Frenchman has universal approval inside the Nerazzurri management and coaching staff. He doesn’t have a ton of experience in a three-man line. However, he can star as a center-back or as a right-back, so he wouldn’t have trouble adapting to the braccetto role in their mind.

The biggest hurdle for Inter to sign Pavard will be coming to terms with Bayern Munich. He stated that he wouldn’t mind playing in Italy in an interview in November. He’s under contract with the Bavarians only until 2024. They signed Joao Cancelo on loan with option to buy from Manchester City Tuesday. It might be a signal that he’ll depart in the summer.

They’ll continue to keep tabs on Tiago Djalò too. Since Stefan De Vrij is in the same situation as Skriniar, although he hasn’t decided to leave yet, they might have to find somebody who plays in the central role of the back three as well.

Our Take on the Inter Defense and Pavard

The Nerazzurri will get zilch for Skriniar, so their summer budget is a fat doubt that looms over any potential chase. The Frenchman would be a sound choice, but they probably won’t have that much to spend, and they’ll have to address multiple positions.
