Bayern Munich Reject Inter Opening Offer for Pavard

Inter have actively started bargaining to purchase Benjamin Pavard, although their first bid was turned down by Bayern Munich. The Nerazzurri put €25M on the table to lure the French international, Sky relays.

The player is keen on moving to Italy, where he’d have a larger role than in Bavaria. While that helps La Beneamata, his side isn’t so sure about letting him go. His contract expires in 2024. They risk losing him gratis next summer unless they convince him to ink a renewal.

Bayern Munich reportedly want €35M to part ways with Pavard, who’s in advanced talks with Inter about his personal terms. Manchester United are also after him. Thomas Tuchel weighed in during a pre-game presser (via SportMediaset).

“He hasn’t told me that he wants out. He’s our player, and I count on him completely.”

The Nerazzurri had made a serious run at him in January when Milan Skriniar seemed poised to seal his move to PSG earlier than when it actually happened.

Our Take on Inter and Pavard

It’s a hard pivot compared to what they were contemplating beforehand, but it’s well justified considering the caliber of the player. Bayern Munich don’t have a lot of leverage considering his contractual situation. On the other hand, having to rival a Premier League side is never ideal.
